60% of all new books are in Print, but 60% of all Author’s Revenues are from eBooks…
In other words, just 40% of the market is responsible for 60% of all the income authors make – and this doesn’t even take into account the commissions from Audiobooks.
Here’s what it boils down to: If you just want the satisfaction of seeing your name in print there is nothing wrong with going the print route (and we can help you with that). But if you would also like to earn a decent part-time or full-time income then we would strongly urge you to start with an eBook.
This is the same decision I was faced with when I wrote my first book – and I’m very glad I chose the eBook route.
You want to be in front of the trends, not behind them. eBooks and Audiobooks are the future. With faster publishing times, lower publishing costs, higher commissions, and an expanding market of readers anxiously looking for new content, it is almost a no-brainer.
Also, remember this… only 40% of all author revenue comes from print books – but it’s actually worse than that! 90% of that 40% goes to big-name authors! In other words, unless you already have a huge name in print media you’re going to starve!
